What is EMS?
Electrical Muscle Stimulation (EMS) is a full body training solution that safely and effectively stimulates all major muscle groups.
EMS is suitable for almost anyone aged 18-80+ tailored to your ability and fitness level.
As we age, we naturally lose muscle mass (atrophy) and strength. Keeping our muscles strong helps our posture and reduces our risk of injury.
EMS is ideal for people with back pain or other injuries having been widely used in physiotherapy for decades.
EMS can dramatically shorten the time it would take to achieve your goals. 20 minutes of EMS is the equivalent of a 90 minute conventional gym workout.
EMS will help you achieve a toned and stronger body within weeks. It’s a like a treatment and training all in one.
How does EMS work?
During traditional training, the brain sends impulses which stimulate certain muscles to contract. Not all muscles have well developed connections to the brain though, and the muscles that don’t will not develop well.
EMS training uses electrical impulses to stimulate the muscles by placing electrodes on the skin above the muscle. These impulses cause the muscles to contract, similar to the normal movement and contraction of the muscle.
EMS training stimulates all major muscle groups and helps to improve the motor nerve connections to the brain, so that even weak muscles are activated.
Because muscle fibres are activated in a different way to standard training, an EMS workout will enable a more intense level of training. This creates more muscle at an increased rate and burns more calories even when resting.
